Sylvia Plath was an American poet, novelist, and short-story writer who is famous for Aeriel and Bell Jar. She was born in Boston, Massachusetts and was known for the style of confessional work. She won a scholarship to Smith College in 1950 after publishing many works. She worked for Mademoiselle magazine as a guest editor when she was a student. She married with British poet Ted Hughes but just after two years later, their relationship ended. Plath committed suicide in 1963 became the first person to win a posthumous Pulitzer Prize.
